Marc López Plana, Editor and Director of Agenda Pública, travelled to London to speak with Alastair Campbell, former Director of Communications for Tony Blair and political commentator, about the arrival of the new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, the challenges facing an increasingly unstable United Kingdom, and the public’s growing appetite for serious political content. Bruno Maçães, senior adviser at Flint Global and writer, and Pol Morillas, director of the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB), speak with Agenda Pública journalist Jorge de Diego Hurtado about the transformation of the international landscape. The academic describes this as "a real dilemma", warns that "in Germany, there is no alternative in the party system to this coalition" and calls for a change of perspective in German politics: "We need visions", he says.

In this conversation with the director and editor of Agenda Pública, Marc López Plana, the European Commission’s number two warns that the "reduction of dependencies that Germany may need" cannot come "at the expense of breaking up" the single market, and argues that big tech companies "must comply with European rules."

In their conversation during CIDOB’s international conference War and Peace in the 21st Century, Daniel Fiott and Max Bergmann, experts on defence and security, understand the present as a critical moment for the stability of the continent. Fiott, from the Brussels School of Governance, speaks of a "structural shift underway" in the transatlantic relationship. Bergmann, from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, regrets that, at this moment, there is no "real foreign-policy mechanism" capable of unifying the continent’s voices to address this challenge.

During the latest edition of the international conference War and Peace in the 21st Century, organised by CIDOB, the think tank’s senior researcher and former Member of the European Parliament, Domènec Ruiz Devesa, spoke with the director of the Paris office of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), Tara Varma, and the director of the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS), Kristi Raik. The two engaged in a discussion on European defence and, in particular, on the role of the US in this context.
